The Joy

’The Joy’ – that’s a topic in itself. But briefly for now: I seriously believe it’s there all the time, we just disconnect from it. But we can find ways to reconnect. We can identify the things in life that get in the way of it and start to do them less and vice versa. I’m also adamant that it’s not god, or some mystic force or something that we are at the mercy of. It’s a choice. Choose to do more of the things that connect you to the joy. Choose to do less of the things that disconnect you. Meditate, lighten up. Laugh. Laugh at yourself. Grow your own food. Do a little something for the good of the human race…

How do you identify what’s what? How do you work out what to change? Well, I think that comes down to awareness. And that’s what makes yoga the cornerstone of my perspective – through it I learned to be more self-aware: to observe without criticism, without judgement…but this is a whole other story, for another time.
